Doctor Life Intermittent Pneumatic Compression (IPC) Machines
With Intermittent Pneumatic Compression the limb is surrounded by an inflatable cuff with several chambers, which are inflated sequentially so that there is a wave of compression travelling up the limb in short bursts. Venous emptying is greatly facilitated and an active circulation is encouraged. It is also useful in the arm to reduce lymphoedema after mastectomy.
DL2002B
This popular model is designed to be used at home under medical or nursing supervision so ongoing treatment is possible while the patient remains in their own home.
DL2002D
This model is better at treating persistant swelliing of the limbs and lymphoedema. The chambers inflate in the direction from foot to thigh and remain inflated until the end of the cycle. (Mode B in diagram on home page)
Indications

- PAOD There is also increasing evidence that IPC can be useful under strict medical supervision, in the treatment of Peripheral Arterial Occlusive Disease.
